In this tutorial, I will be sharing with you how to achieve 2D facial motion capture in After Effects. The technique involves acquiring motion data from dots on a face, and using that motion data to manipulate the position of puppet pins on an image that you
want to animate.
It’s a very useful way of quickly creating detailed animations, and characterizing inanimate objects, like the rock face in the intro. It’s also possible to do face replacement. By Matthew Perks
